STUDY IN AMERICA

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT STUDYING IN THE AMERICA

The U.S.A has always been the top choice of international students for years because of their famous and prestigious educational system, modern technology, the supreme power of economics, and most attractive culture. Moreover, the fancy of employment and immigration make a lot of people be more anxious to arrive in US. However, you should prepare yourself well before your departure. Let’s have a look on what you should do:

I. STUDY IN US - CHOOSE A SUITABLE SCHOOL

There are a lot of excellent schools in the USA but not all of them. The fact is that the schools’ quality in the US is varied from a school to another. There are a big number of chances that you can choose a very bad school to study if you do not have enough information provided by an experience study-abroad advisor.

All of the schools monitored by the government are good, especially the high-school system. There are differences from states to states, from territories to territories, but in the US, it is compulsory to go to the school from the age of 6-7 until 17-18. This fact results in the high and unique quality of public schools controlled by the government through out this country.

The high quality of public school system is undeniable but it is really impossible for international students to enroll to these public schools. Luckily, a numerous private schools, which make the US education become well-known around the world, has provided international students with chances and promises.

It is true to say that a chance for international students to attend the top schools in USA is very tiny because of many reasons. They should find the others which are good but not very good like that. The “good” schools may be included some of the components as:

- Suitability: A good school, first of all, is the school that best suits you. It means the entry requirements, advanced placement, reasonable costs, small class-size that will help international students seeking for helps easier, and so on. As our experience, there are some students, who must return their homelands soon, though they have studied pretty well in the US because they can not afford the oversea cost for a long time. It is acceptable if the yearly cost of studying abroad is from 20,000 USD to 30,000 USD. If the yearly amount is above 30,000 USD, it is so high. Above 40,000 USD is considered as very high cost.

- Safe location: It is true that some area of the US is not really safe for the international students though this country has a very good law upon their people. The word “safe” does not mean that your school must be located at the centre of a city. By contrast, a majority of great schools in the USA is located at the suburbs where is quiet, spacious, and away from the distracters.

- Recognition: Very important. The term “accreditation” may be somewhat strange and new to international students, especially Vietnamese, yet it is the “gold” value of a US school. It is something that makes your school become well-known and makes your study pathway in the future become more smoothly. Let's imagine that you studied in a high school that was good according to you, then you applied to an university and what if you were denied because your high school dimploma was not accredited? For further information about accreditation, you are invited to visit: www.chea.org.

- High Scholastic Aptitute Test (this aspect is applied for high school student only): This is extremely important if you want to apply to a famous university later. This is a "selling point" of a high school. SAT has been considered as one of the compulsory entry requirement to a university in the US and students with high SAT always own a lot of advantages. You are able to find a high school with high SAT score by the search engine of this website.

- Good Student Services: As a student, of course, you love to study in a school with good student services. Some of the schools offer tutor service, internet access, professional admission advisor, financial aids, etc. You can find these aspects by the search engine of this website too.

- Have high rank: not very import. Vietnamese students often love to study in such the schools. It is good if you can, but it is not a miserableness if you can not. There are a lot of successful people who earn a degree from "lower rank" schools. The school data-base of Study Guide will not offer you the names on the top of the world but it will give the names that is good enough to you.

II. STUDY IN THE US - PREPARE WELL FOR A VISA INTERVIEW:

It would waste a lot of your time if your visa is rejected even though you are accepted by a US schools. You should consider these things mentioned below carefully before your visa interview:

1. Have good Grade Point Average (GPA) in Vietnam: the first important thing. It is not only helpful to you when you are seeking for an acceptance letter but also supportive to your chance to get a student Visa.

2. Plan your study pathway well: the second important thing. Whatever you will study in the US, you must persuade the consul by your well-planned study pathway. For example, if you come to the US for grade 10th, show the consul what will you do in grade 11th, grade 12th, and the next.

3. Have good financial status: very important. This is the main point deciding whether you will be granted a US Visa or not. In the unsuccessful cases that we have known, unexperience in explaining fininacial affairs to the consul has taken a big part. You should have advices from an experience and trustworthy oversea study consultant before your visa interview.

4. Show-off your return: extremely important. Any disrespect to your motherland results in Visa reject surely.

5. Complete the Visa application forms and procedures: you must prepare the documents that are required in a Visa interview. You can visit here for further information.

6. Perform well in the interview: the final thing connects you to success. A visa interview is compulsory procedure for a US Visa.
